In 2013, I got a last-minute call to second shoot a Mobile Food Rodeo event in Seattle. I didn’t have a full camera kit with me at the time, but I always have some sort of gig bag in my car for just these occasions. All images were taken with a Canon 6D and a Canon 50mm f/1.8II—a light, simple, and relatively discrete kit for the time.
Second shooting is always super fun because as the second shooter you can devote more time to crowd shots, atmosphere, interesting moments and people, little details that help tell (and sell) the overall story of an event.
Our images were published on local Seattle outlets and used for a time on Mobile Food Rodeo’s own site.
